I especially like all the video clips in Ain't Misbehavin' that give concrete examples of discipline vs. punishment and strategies that parents can use.  The interactivity of the course is very engaging.

haiti adoption update

January 20, 2010 - In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake which hit Haiti last week, there has been significant interest from families wanting to help by adopting Haitian children. This is certainly a heart-warming reflection of our community's desire to help children in need.

From an adoption standpoint, the priority being given by the US State Department is to those Haitian children who were already in the process of being adopted by parents in the USA prior to the disaster. These children have begun to leave Haiti and our understanding is that their evacuation and unification with waiting adoptive parents will continue to receive high priority. To follow the news on this as it develops, check the State Department's website: http://www.uscis.gov

Newscast: Adopting an Earthquake Orphan from Haiti (Blog Talk Radio): Over 1000 children were in the process of being adopted from Haiti, and tens of thousands more may be orphaned by the earthquake. Click here to listen to a newscast with US gov't and partner adoption agencies, who discuss the possibility of adopting from Haiti.
